All the Boys Love Mandy Lane

As a Horror movie, they should have left this movie in the closet. There nothing movie-worthy about this horror. The acting seems unnatural, teens seem to be stereotypical druggies with sex being so casual that it is unfamiliar to most people. All except Mandy Lane, who is the lone different teen in the movie, and *SPOILER ALERT* one of the masterminds of the killings.
I must admit that the only selling point is to see Amber Heard (Mandy Lane) as she is definitely very pretty. And if one can base a movie on looking at one actress, then it worth it. But as a horror movie, this movie leaves you empty and wondering what the hell were they thinking when they made it.

My Star Trek

This is a rendering of my design for a USS Enterprise, I probably do more. This one is set with the starship bypassing a planet and its moon with a bright star in the background. The ship was rendered in Rhino and the planet, moon and stars in photoshop using the LunaCell plugin.

It is 1600x1200 and suitable for use as a desktop Wallpaper.

Enterprise like Concept

Back to a little 3D work, if Abrams can have his own Enterprise, and others can to. It is about time I have mine, so this is one of my concepts of the USS-Enterprise NCC-1701. Yes, it not the TOS Enterprise, but it has all the same concepts as the original but also some more modern curves to it. As it just a prototype concept, it probably can change at some point, especially when I get into doing the detail work for it. If I ever get around to doing that.

Star Trek

Today, I went to see Star Trek XI (2009) with a semi-complete open mind. I have to say that I both anticipated it and dreaded the renewal of the series with a new cast. Indeed seeing Nimoy as Mr. Spock trilled me to no end. I must caution that Spock is perhaps my favorite character ever in the franchise.

This movie is a complete reboot of Star Trek and in no means will violate star trek continuity as it occurs in a divergent parallel time-stream, caused by the event of the Romulan time traveling. So it does not affect any of the series canon, but can serve to develop a new canon that both similar and different than the original. Some canon were kept and some changed in this universe which makes it both similar and different, such as Kirk cheating the Kobayashi Maru test. But absent is the disharmony between Mr. Spock and his father Sarek. Mr. Spock love interest is Lt. Uhura instead of Nurse Chapel.

The movie is a complete joy ride, adapted for modern audiences. Making it an exciting and fun movie to watch. What it does lack is a lot of the heavier socio-topical issues that underpinned the Star Trek mythos. It brings back the trill of seeing the Enterprise again on the big screen, and while this is a different ship, I must admit that it indeed captures the flavor and love of the original. I cannot say if this ship can contain all the compartments found in the original, but it has a hanger, one that I thought it might have skipped from the initial first glimpses of the skip that were leaked. So, this ship seems worthy to follow the namesake of the original.

I am not going to blog any spoilers here, so if you wish to go see it, please do. It worth the price of admission. And so far is a worthy successor to the star trek franchise. What would be needed now is some more thought provoking story-lines. Which I hope will be in future sequels to this series.

It does contain some nudity but is not overt, and it should not offend anyone other than the mightier than thou fools who think with what comes out of their butts.

Stupid Xian Youtubers

So I posted a comment on Frankgone2010 on youtube. One of those Xian assholes that keep preaching that God is the answer to everything. I showed where he was ignorant of what knowledge is available today. This asshole goes out of his way to check my profile on youtube to see a couple spore game videos I posted and then comment that my knowledge of evolution is based on spore. SUCH A FRICKING ASSHOLE. SPORE IS A GAME.

It never failed to amaze me how jokers and morons like this get a kick over publicizing themselves and their stupidity. This grinning buffoon, thinks he cool, with how he shows his lack of any intelligence. Granted he supporting a fairy tale religion. But he does not have to look like a idiot doing so.
